Assignment #12

Symmetry with Photography

JUMP!

I thought this picture could be better because the shutter speed was too low but I couldn't make it too low so it would be too bright

I thought this picture was the best out of all of them because I adjusted the shutter speed so it wasn't blurry or too bright so it was just right.

What color are you?

The color I see myself as is generally white. When you look up  the meaning of white, you normally find purity or angelic, but if you’ve met me I’m really not anything like that. So whenever I view myself I have the color white in my head, which represents the true me. I always think of it along with the things I like to do in my life. I surround myself with adventures and fun sports, which are still all me, but tend to be a bit intimidating and dangerous to others. The yellow in the picture describes those adventures and sports that I like to do. I view the bee in the picture as the adventures that come and go in my life everyday. So if you wash that all away, you’ll find the me that never changes,  or the white that never changes no matter how many colors you put on top of it. You can see the intimidations surrounding me like those different colors covering up white, but then if you take that all away you still have the white or simply me with nothing covering up who I am. Hopefully that makes sense.

TEXTURE 101

I chose this photo by Martyn Negaro to represent texture because it's like I already know what the leaf feels like by looking at it. The lines of the veins are crisp, detailed, and clear which makes it appear firm to the touch. It's those crisp textured  veins in ten leaf that helps me know what it feels like.

Assignment #4:

How DOES a great photographer create great composition?

RULE OF THIRDS

Manual & ISO 6400 & f/5 & E 40000
I find this picture to have rough depth to it. It seems to draw someone in to look at details of the rough and ragged texture. The black points and jagged edges make it seem like someone can feel the roughness.
TEXTURE

Manual & ISO 3200 & f/4.6 & E 40000
This photo has depth in color and light which seems to pull someone in. The increasing and decreasing letters draw people in for a closer look. The lines in the photo also leads someone along the side of the car and to read the name.
LEADING LINES

DIAGONALS

Manual & ISO: 12800 & f/5 & E40000
I find this picture to mesmerizing. All the water drops pop out in the picture causing you to observe the details of the drops. the contrast also keeps the picture interesting and intriguing with the dark outside and light inside, and because of the contrast the water drops pop out.

OLD SHOES

What do you think of when you hear "old shoes"?

Assignment #2:

What's a "Selfie" without an image of the "Self"?

Your first "real" assignment is to take a Selfie...but not an ordinary one.  I want to be able to see who you are without actually seeing you.  Using your camera and any props you want, capture who you really are (or who you think you really are).
